The Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering with Honours at UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) can be studied either full-time or part-time. The full-time option is taught at the Main Campus in Johor Bahru, whereas the part-time option is held at the Kuala Lumpur campus and in Miri, Sarawak. Depending on the study mode and entry qualifications, completion takes roughly four to six years, and marks are drawn from coursework and final exams. The program covers how oil and gas are located, extracted, and produced, building on a base of mathematics, physics, and geoscience before moving into subjects such as drilling, reservoir engineering, and production operations. Graduates can build careers in the petroleum industry, with specialisations such as drilling, reservoir engineering, and production optimisation.
A Senior High School Certificate or an equivalent pre-university qualification (the specific requirements vary by country).
Evidence of meeting the English proficiency requirement.
Applicants holding other qualifications, such as the UEC, a Foundation certificate, or the STAM, should speak with the university’s educational consultants or submit an application so their credentials can be assessed for admission.
