The Bachelor of Nuclear Engineering with Honours at UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) is a full-time degree taught at the Main Campus in Johor Bahru. Depending on the qualifications a student enters with, completion takes anywhere from four to six years. Each semester carries a workload of roughly 12 to 18 credit hours, and marks come from both coursework and final exams. The program builds a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, then moves into areas such as reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, radiation detection and protection, nuclear materials, and reactor safety. Beyond power generation, students also learn how nuclear technology is applied in medicine, industry, and research. Graduates can work in nuclear power plants, research institutions, or regulatory bodies, as well as in fields like medical physics and industrial radiation services.
A Senior High School Certificate or an equivalent pre-university qualification (the specific requirements vary by country).
