Course Overview

UniKL Malaysia offers the Bachelor of Marine Engineering Technology (Honours), a program shaped by the fast growth of the marine industry. The industry covers many areas, including vessel types, the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore platforms, and the production of spare parts and shipping equipment. More than 22,000 professionals work in the local marine sector, and demand for human resources is expected to grow by 8% to 10% each year. To meet this demand, UniKL MIMET offers Marine Engineering Technology courses that train semi-professional personnel who support the industry's growth and the country's development.

The program is intended for STPM holders and prepares students for professional roles in the marine industry, supporting their personal development and wider economic growth. Alongside engineering technology subjects, the curriculum covers technopreneurship, design innovation, and project management. Graduates are therefore highly skilled technical workers who are creative and innovative, and who can manage, operate, and maintain systems in the marine industries.

Entry Requirements

• Applicants must have completed 12 years of schooling and hold a general pass in a High School Certificate, A-Levels, or an equivalent qualification, with at least Grade C (60%) in Mathematics and one Science subject, such as Physics, Chemistry, or Biology, depending on the program.
