Diploma in Computer Science

Course Overview

The Diploma in Computer Science at Management & Science University (MSU) Malaysia is a 2.5-year programme designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computer science, combining theoretical knowledge with practical and technical skills. The programme prepares students to understand and apply computing concepts in areas such as programming, databases, networking, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, web development, and software systems.

Students develop their programming, analytical, and problem-solving abilities through practical coursework and technology-based projects. The programme also includes industrial training and a Computer Science Project, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world situations and gain valuable industry experience. Graduates can enter the technology sector or continue their studies in computer science, information technology, software development, and related fields.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to meet one of the following:

• SPM: Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or an equivalent qualification with at least 3 credits in any subjects, including Mathematics.

• STPM: Pass with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in one subject, together with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or an equivalent qualification.

• STAM: Minimum Maqbul (Pass), together with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent.

• SKM Level 3: A qualification in a related field. Applicants without Mathematics may be considered subject to an assessment of their Mathematics competency.

• Certificate: A Level 3 MQF Certificate in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

• Other qualifications: Relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government may also be considered.

Mathematics requirement: Applicants who do not have the required Mathematics qualification may be required to complete and pass a reinforcement Mathematics course at SPM-equivalent level.
