Bachelor in Takaful (Honours)

Course Overview

The Bachelor in Takaful (Honours) at Management & Science University (MSU) is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in Takaful, Islamic finance, risk management, and Shariah-compliant financial planning. The programme combines Islamic financial principles with business and management concepts, while emphasising ethical practices and Shariah-based values.

Students explore key areas such as Family Takaful, General Takaful, underwriting, claims management, Retakaful, risk assessment, Islamic financial management, Shariah governance, and Islamic wealth management. The programme also develops students' analytical, managerial, and communication skills through research, case studies, industry exposure, and industrial training, preparing them for careers in Takaful companies, Islamic financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and related sectors.

Entry Requirements

Applicants may qualify for admission through one of the following routes:

• Matriculation/Foundation: A recognised qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, together with a pass in Mathematics at SPM or equivalent.

• STPM: Pass in two full subjects with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, together with a pass in Mathematics at SPM or equivalent.

• STAM: Minimum grade of Jayyid, together with a pass in Mathematics at SPM or equivalent.

• Diploma in Islamic Finance or a related field: Level 4 MQF Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Applicants with a CGPA between 2.00 and 2.50 may be considered through an internal assessment.

• Other Diploma: Level 4 MQF Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

• Other relevant qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government may also be considered.

Additional requirement: Students without prior Arabic language knowledge may be required to complete an Arabic Language Enhancement course at the beginning of the programme.
