Post Basic Certificate in Gerontology Nursing

Course Overview

This programme is designed to prepare nurses with the professional knowledge, skills, and competencies required to provide safe and effective care for older adults. It focuses on gerontological nursing and prepares graduates for career opportunities in the growing global healthcare sector, particularly in the care of ageing populations. Students will explore the physical, psychological, and social aspects of ageing and understand how these factors are affected by the ageing process. The programme also introduces healthcare approaches and disease prevention strategies specifically tailored to the needs of older adults.

Entry Requirements

• Possess a Diploma in Nursing or equivalent qualification from an institution recognised by the Nursing Board Malaysia.

• Be registered with the Nursing Council or Board of Nursing in the respective country.
