Master of Medical Sciences

Course Overview

The Master of Medical Sciences at MAHSA University is primarily designed for students who plan to continue their education at the doctoral level, including PhD, MD, or equivalent programmes. The programme develops students’ ability to apply scientific knowledge to real-world situations while strengthening their communication, social, and critical thinking skills. It also provides an integrated and technology-focused understanding of biological systems across different levels.

The programme prepares graduates for professional careers in medical and health sciences, particularly in research and education. Students develop competencies in areas such as idea management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving, enabling them to assess complex issues, plan and implement effective solutions, and communicate their research findings through academic publications.

Students are introduced to advanced study and research methodologies in selected areas of medical sciences. The curriculum is aligned with current developments and industry needs, combining theoretical learning, e-learning, laboratory-based practical sessions, and hospital exposure.

The programme is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Ministry of Higher Education. Teaching is delivered by experienced lecturers across various medical science disciplines, with the Faculty of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences supported by 116 qualified and experienced academic staff members.

Entry Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 MQF) in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised higher education institution, as approved by the Faculty Postgraduate Academic Board and Senate, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
