Course Overview

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Technology is a research-based doctoral programme designed to develop advanced knowledge and expertise in Information Technology. The programme focuses on generating new knowledge through advanced and applied IT research, with consideration of Industry 4.0 (IR4.0) technologies.

Students undertake intensive independent research under the supervision of an eligible academic advisor. The programme develops students' ability to conduct, analyse and report original research, while addressing current technological and industry-related challenges. Students are also required to complete Research Methodology and present their research progress annually.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should generally possess:

• A Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computing, Computer Science, or a related field, subject to acceptance by the MAHSA University Senate.

• Applicants with a Master’s degree in a non-computing field may be considered if they have relevant working experience in computing or a related field, or may be required to complete a prerequisite course.

• Other qualifications equivalent to a relevant Master’s degree may be considered subject to approval by the university.
