Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering

Course Overview

The Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering (PhD) is a research-based programme designed to develop advanced expertise in engineering research, with a focus on areas such as Industry 4.0, sustainability, and green technology. The programme provides candidates with intensive research training and equips them with the skills needed to generate new knowledge and address current and emerging challenges in the engineering industry.

Throughout the programme, candidates develop the ability to plan, conduct, analyse, and present original and sustained research that responds to industry needs. While research is conducted under the guidance of a qualified academic supervisor, candidates are also expected to demonstrate independence and take responsibility for their research work.

Entry Requirements

• A Master’s Degree or another equivalent qualification accepted by the HEP Senate.
