Course Overview

The Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at MAHSA University is a comprehensive undergraduate programme that prepares students for a rewarding and respected career in dentistry. Dentistry combines scientific knowledge with practical and artistic skills, allowing dental professionals to promote oral health, improve patients’ well-being, and create healthy and confident smiles. The profession also provides opportunities to deliver compassionate care and contribute to the oral health of individuals and communities.

The programme integrates biomedical, clinical, and behavioural sciences, with a strong focus on areas such as human anatomy, craniofacial biology, physiology, biochemistry, and microbiology. Students will also study pathology, pharmacology, human organ systems, disease processes, emergency procedures, infection control, oral diseases, biomaterials, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, public health, and community dentistry.

Throughout the programme, students will develop the knowledge and practical skills required to perform a wide range of dental procedures, from basic treatments such as tooth extractions and the correction of oral imperfections to more advanced procedures including root canal treatment and prosthodontic care. They will learn how to diagnose, treat, and prevent dental diseases while maintaining professional standards and ensuring safe and effective patient care.

Upon graduation, students will be well prepared to pursue professional careers in dentistry and contribute to the oral health of individuals and communities. Entry Requirements

STPM / A-Level

• Pass with a minimum of 3B / 2A 1C / 1A 1B 1C in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
