Diploma in Nursing

Course Overview

The Diploma in Nursing at MAHSA University Malaysia is a comprehensive three-year programme designed for SPM leavers who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing and caring for patients in hospitals, hospices, and emergency medical centres. Students will study essential medical subjects such as anatomy, biology, pathology, pharmacology, and safety procedures, alongside supporting areas including communication skills, psychological support, English language, and computer technology.

Upon graduation, students will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills needed to assess patients and plan appropriate nursing care, provide pre- and post-operative care, administer medications and intravenous treatments, monitor vital signs, collect clinical samples, maintain medical records, and organise nursing duties. They will also develop the ability to provide emotional support and appropriate health guidance to patients and their families.

MAHSA’s Diploma in Nursing aims to produce competent and compassionate graduates who are prepared to deliver holistic patient care and contribute effectively to the healthcare sector across both public and private healthcare settings.

Entry Requirements

SPM or Equivalent

Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or an equivalent qualification with five (5) subjects at a minimum Grade C, including:

• Credit in Mathematics (Elementary, Additional, or Modern Mathematics)

AND

One (1) credit in any of the following Science subjects:

• Science

• Biology

• Chemistry

• Physics

• Applied Science

AND

• Credit in three (3) other subjects
