Course Overview

The Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology at MAHSA University Malaysia is a specialized three-year programme designed for students who have completed SPM or an equivalent qualification and wish to pursue a career in medical laboratory technology.

The programme provides students with the knowledge and practical skills required to collect and handle clinical specimens and perform laboratory tests on body fluids, tissues, and other biological samples. Students will study various areas of medical laboratory science, including clinical chemistry, clinical biology, haematology, haemopathology, histotechnology, immunology, specimen collection and handling, transfusion science, and other specialized subjects.

Throughout the programme, students develop essential professional skills such as logical thinking, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to follow established laboratory procedures and professional standards.

Graduates will be prepared for career opportunities in hospitals, medical centres, clinics, laboratories, and educational institutions, across both the public and private healthcare sectors.

Entry Requirements

SPM or equivalent

Applicants must obtain 5 credits in the following subjects:

• Bahasa Malaysia

• English

• Mathematics

• One Science subject: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, or Applied Science

• Any one other subject
