The Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (DEE) at MAHSA University Malaysia is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the theoretical and practical aspects of electrical and electronics engineering. The programme develops the technical knowledge, practical skills, and problem-solving abilities needed to prepare students for careers in the electrical and electronics industry, while also providing a pathway to further their studies at a higher level.
The programme is completed over 2.5 years across seven semesters, with most classes conducted at the MAHSA University campus alongside practical laboratory sessions. It follows a student-centred learning approach that incorporates problem-based learning and hands-on training. These methods help students strengthen their critical thinking, technical knowledge, and ability to solve engineering-related problems.
In the third semester of the second year, students undertake a 12-week industrial training or internship after completing their first year of study. This placement provides valuable exposure to a professional work environment and allows students to apply their academic knowledge in real industry settings. Students are supervised by a lecturer who works closely with industry professionals. At the end of the internship, students are required to submit a report, while industry supervisors assess their performance and provide feedback. The experience also helps students improve their understanding of workplace practices and technical report writing.
Throughout the programme, students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical engineering skills, as well as the ability to plan and manage projects effectively. They are encouraged to apply what they learn to analyse and address real-world engineering challenges, preparing them for a range of career opportunities in the electrical and electronics industry.
