Course Overview

The Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) is a four-year undergraduate programme developed with guidance from industry experts and approved by the Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The programme provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue careers in civil engineering, with particular emphasis on design and construction.

Civil engineers contribute significantly to the sustainable development and improvement of the built environment. The programme helps students develop strong logical reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical skills, enabling them to approach engineering challenges professionally and effectively.

The programme adopts a student-centred learning approach that combines problem-based learning with practical, hands-on training. These methods encourage students to strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities while gaining practical experience relevant to the civil engineering field.

A structured industrial internship is also included in the curriculum to complement students’ theoretical and practical learning and support the accreditation requirements of the Engineering Accreditation Council under the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Through collaboration with various industry partners, students gain valuable exposure to professional engineering practices and real-world working environments.

The curriculum also focuses on developing the technological and professional skills required by the industry. Students learn to apply appropriate engineering techniques while strengthening their analytical thinking, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for successful careers in civil engineering.

Entry Requirements

STPM

• Pass STPM with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in three (3) subjects, including Mathematics and at least one Science subject.

• Applicants with other qualifications or certificates, such as UEC, Foundation, STAM, or equivalent qualifications, may contact the educational consultants or submit an application for an admission assessment.
