Course Overview

This programme focuses on the functions and interactions of cells, organs, and body systems, providing students with a strong foundation in understanding human health and disease. As new and emerging diseases continue to affect communities, biomedical science plays an increasingly important role in healthcare, particularly in disease diagnosis and clinical laboratory investigations. With Malaysia’s healthcare sector continuing to develop, the demand for skilled biomedical science professionals is expected to grow.

The programme is designed to help students explore areas of professional interest while developing the essential knowledge and practical skills needed for successful careers in biomedical science. Students will also develop laboratory competencies, including experiment planning, data collection, data management, and analysis related to selected research areas.

Learning is delivered through a combination of asynchronous e-learning, synchronous online teaching, face-to-face lectures and tutorials, and practical sessions conducted at designated learning centres.

Entry Requirements

STPM

• Pass STPM, Matriculation, Pre-University, or an equivalent qualification with a minimum GPA of 2.33 in two of the following subjects: Biology, Physics/Mathematics, and Chemistry.
