Advanced Diploma in Midwifery

Course Overview

The Advanced Diploma in Midwifery at MAHSA University Malaysia is a specialised programme designed for nursing graduates who wish to advance their skills and specialise in caring for mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

The programme combines academic learning with specialised clinical training and practical exposure in areas such as gynaecology, obstetrics, neonatal care, family and cultural considerations, antenatal and postnatal nursing, psychology of motherhood, preventive medicine, and the identification of medical complications during childbirth.

Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the Midwifery Board Malaysia certification examination. Graduates who meet the relevant requirements can be recognised as State Registered Nurses and Midwives by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. They will be equipped with the professional knowledge and clinical skills needed to provide safe and effective midwifery care, support mothers and newborns, and address the various healthcare needs associated with pregnancy, childbirth, and antenatal and postnatal care.

Entry Requirements

STPM

• Possess a Diploma in Nursing from a recognised institution.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of clinical working experience.

• Have at least 3 months of experience in the midwifery field.

Applicants with other qualifications, such as UEC, Foundation, STAM, or equivalent certificates, should contact the university’s educational consultants or submit an application for an admission assessment.
