Course Overview

The Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Management at the University of Cyberjaya is a postgraduate programme available through Open and Distance Learning (ODL), designed to develop advanced knowledge and professional skills in occupational safety and health management. The programme focuses on strengthening students’ abilities in decision-making, problem-solving, risk management, and workplace safety, while developing their analytical, communication, and research skills.

Students study key areas such as safety management, chemical management, industrial hygiene, health management, OSH legislation, occupational safety and health management systems, workplace emergency management, risk management and control, ergonomics, and statistical analysis. The programme also requires a research project and dissertation, allowing students to apply their knowledge to a specialised area of occupational safety and health.

The ODL format provides greater flexibility for students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies while managing work or other commitments. The programme prepares graduates to work as OSH professionals across different industries and environments, including construction, oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, heavy industry, and production.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are generally required to have a Bachelor’s degree through one of the following routes:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a CGPA between 2.00 and 2.50, subject to a rigorous internal assessment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and at least 3 years of relevant work experience, subject to internal assessment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 without relevant work experience, subject to completing the required prerequisite courses.
