Master in Islamic Finance - ODL

Course Overview

The Master in Islamic Finance at the University of Cyberjaya is a postgraduate programme available through Open & Distance Learning (ODL), designed to develop advanced knowledge and professional skills in Islamic finance. The programme focuses on the principles and practices of Islamic financial systems while also developing students’ analytical, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and managerial abilities.

The programme covers important areas such as Islamic financial systems, Islamic financial contracts, Islamic corporate governance, Islamic capital markets, Islamic social finance, Islamic investment management, and accounting for Islamic financial institutions. It also introduces students to the growing field of Islamic FinTech, preparing them to respond to developments in the modern Islamic finance industry.

Through its interdisciplinary approach, the programme prepares students to work with both financial and non-financial Islamic institutions in local and international markets. Students also complete a research project, allowing them to apply their knowledge to current issues and developments in Islamic finance.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are generally required to have a Bachelor’s degree meeting one of the following routes:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, subject to a rigorous internal assessment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and relevant working experience, subject to internal assessment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 without relevant work experience, subject to completing the required prerequisite courses.
