Course Overview

The Diploma in Mass Communication at the University of Cyberjaya is a two-year full-time programme designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in the field of media and communication. The programme covers key areas such as journalism, public relations, broadcasting, digital media, advertising, film, and media production.

Students develop practical abilities in media writing, visual communication, public speaking, digital photography, screen production, and content creation. The programme also introduces students to media culture, communication ethics, research methods, and marketing communication, helping them develop creativity, critical thinking, communication skills, and ethical decision-making.

The programme has a strong practical focus, with students gaining experience through media projects, workshops, industry exposure, and industrial training/practicum. This prepares graduates for entry-level careers in the media and communication industry or provides a foundation for continuing their studies at bachelor's degree level.

Entry Requirements

Applicants can generally enter the programme through several recognised qualifications:

• SPM/SPMV: Pass with a minimum of 3 credits in any subjects, including English, or an equivalent qualification.

• O-Level: Pass with at least 3 credits, including English.

• STPM: Pass with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any subject, together with a credit in English at SPM or equivalent.

• UEC: Pass with a minimum of Grade B in 3 subjects, including English.

• STAM: Pass with a minimum grade of Maqbul and a credit in English at SPM or equivalent.

• Certificate: A relevant Level 3 MQF Certificate or equivalent, together with the required English qualification.

• Certificate in Media and Communication: Relevant certificate holders may also be considered.

• SKM Level 3: A pass in SKM Level 3 may be accepted.
