Master of Cyber Security

Course Overview

The Master of Cyber Security at City University Malaysia is a postgraduate programme designed to provide professionals with advanced knowledge and practical expertise in protecting digital infrastructure, managing cyber risks, and developing strategic cybersecurity initiatives. The programme combines theoretical concepts with practical applications to prepare students for the increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape.

Students develop specialised knowledge in key areas such as ethical hacking, digital forensics, cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance. Through practical learning and industry-relevant applications, they gain the technical and analytical skills needed to identify vulnerabilities, respond to cyber threats, strengthen security systems, and support effective organisational security strategies.

The programme also focuses on developing leadership, decision-making, and strategic management capabilities, enabling graduates to take on specialist and senior positions within the cybersecurity sector. Graduates are prepared to contribute effectively to organisations seeking to protect their digital assets and manage evolving cyber risks.

Upon completion, graduates can pursue advanced careers such as Cybersecurity Manager, Security Consultant, Penetration Testing Lead, Digital Forensics Specialist, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Specialist, and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirement:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, or an equivalent qualification accepted by the Higher Education Provider (HEP) Senate; or

• Hold other recognised qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, subject to admission assessment by City University Malaysia.
