The Master of Philosophy in Immersive Technologies and Video Game Studies at Asia Pacific University (APU) is a research-based programme designed to develop advanced expertise in immersive technologies, video game studies, innovation, and interactive experience design. Students gain in-depth research skills, technical knowledge, and interdisciplinary expertise in computing and management, preparing them for doctoral studies and careers in immersive digital technologies, game development, and user experience innovation.

The programme is supported by APU's state-of-the-art Game Development Lab & Studio, which features industry-standard hardware and software, experienced lecturers, and curriculum collaboration with leading game development partners. Students also benefit from access to Malaysia's first university-curated Video Games Mini Museum, providing valuable insights into the technological, cultural, and historical evolution of the gaming industry while enhancing research and learning experiences.

Entry Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate.

• Applicants with other equivalent qualifications or certificates (including qualifications equivalent to a bachelor's degree) may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Prospective students are encouraged to contact APU's educational consultants or submit an application for an admission assessment.
